Profile

Hyewon Yoon received her Doctor of Musical Arts in violin performance and Master of Music in violin performance from the University of Maryland, School of Music in College Park in the United States. She also received a violin diploma from the Bruckner-Konservatorium Linz in Austria and as well as her bachelor degree in violin performance at the Ewha Women's University in Seoul, Korea. She has received numerous awards such as the Orchestra Assistantship from the University of Maryland, the Ewha Scholarship from the Ewha Women's University in Seoul, Korea.

She was a member of the Seoul Sinfonietta and served as the Associate Concertmaster of the Sinfonietta Linz (Austria). she also served as the Associate Principal at the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra (U.S.A). She has had many solo recitals and chamber concerts in North America, Asia and Europe.

Dr. Yoon was a visiting professor of Chungang University and had taught at the Seoul National University of Education, Research Center of Music Education for Gifted and Talented Children program and many other universities. She was also a violin instructor of Holton-Arms School in Maryland and Chadwick International School in Korea. Currently Yoon is the music director and string sectional coach of New Life Foundation.
